Applying for a place in school

From 12 October 2023, you can apply for a school place in reception for children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020. The closing date for Admissions Applications is 15 January 2024.

We want to ensure that each child makes the best possible start to their time in school. To this end we are happy to discuss flexible arrangements. If children feel comfortable, confident and secure at school, they are much more likely to become effective, increasingly independent learners. If we are oversubscribed for reception places or full in any year group then we use the school admissions policy and criteria which can be found at the following link Terrington Admissions Policy 2025-26

Prior to a child starting school or nursery a series of transition visits are put in place in order for children to be familiar with our EYFS provision.

There may be circumstances where parents elect a later starting date – parents retain the right for their child to begin compulsory education in the term after their child’s 5th birthday.
