    School Lunches

    School lunches are priced at £3.00 per day and we ask that parents please pay online via Parent Pay.

    Your child needs to say that they would like a school dinner or a jacket potato option in the morning when asked by the class teacher.

    We encourage as part of our Healthy Schools initiative, that packed lunches should be as healthy as possible to promote a balanced diet.

    School Meals

    Our school meals follow a healthy-eating policy and are produced freshly every day in our school kitchen from only:

    1. fresh meat and poultry sourced from the region;
    2. fruit and vegetables sourced regionally where possible using local suppliers;
    3. products free from additives associated with health problems in young children;
    4. fats free from hydrogenated oils;
    5. menus are nutritionally balance.

    Our school is allergy aware

    We ask that parents avoid sending items to school which contain nuts and appreciate your support with this matter.

    As stated by Allergy UK,  “We do not recommend a ‘no nut policy’ in schools, as it is not possible to guarantee and enforce a nut free zone, staff cannot monitor all lunches and snacks brought in from home. A free from environment creates a false sense of security and does not safely prepare children for environments where nuts may be present. The school would need to consider other children with different food allergies and it is not practical to restrict them all. Therefore, the school should have procedures in place to minimise risk of reaction via cross contamination.”

    Please see our allergy awareness policy on the policy page

    Free School Meals

    All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal.

    Free school meals are also available to children whose parents receive certain benefits, so if your child has been in receipt of free school meals in the past, or you think they may be entitled to free school meals now, you should still call at the school office to complete a form as this will ensure that the school receives the Pupil Premium funding for your child and they continue to receive a free school meal after Year 2.
